6. Features of digital cameras
The reason that digital cameras have largely replaced the old film cameras is they offer many additional features. These include

          - Can preview images and decide whether to keep them or not

        - Costs nothing to take extra pictures

        - Can store hundreds or even thousands of photos in the camera with the right memory card

        - Easier to take well-exposed and in-focus pictures as the camera may have advanced automatic computer control of its settings.

        - Can upload the images to either print or import into a photo imaging application

        - Simple to make corrections to some common image problems such as 'red-eye' with flash photography.

        - Can add extra information to the image such as geo-location and comments

        - Can upload the images directly to photo-sharing sites or email them.

        - Digital photos can be displayed at home using electronic picture frames.

        - Can use a colour printer to produce a photo which is much quicker than the old way of sending them away to be processed.

        - Images can be stored permanently on a DVD or CD

        - Camera can be used to also record video
