3. Kilobyte - KB
A kilobyte is a 1,000 bytes.
There is also a standard unit called the kibibyte which is 1024 bytes (2 to the power of 10) but people tend to only use the term kilobyte.
This would be equivalent to 1000 characters on the screen.
To help you visualise the storage capacity of a kilobyte, the text contained in the box below has exactly 1000 characters (not including spaces).
