Workstation

A computer that is attached to a network.

Another name to describe a workstation is a 'terminal'. The difference between a terminal and a workstation is that a terminal is basically a keyboard, mouse and monitor with very little computing power - often just enough to communicate with the network.

A workstation has enough computing power to be used without a network connection.
