Spell Checker

Many applications now have a built-in facility or tool to check your spelling.

For example word-processors have spell-checkers and so do some email applications. A mis-spelling is normally highlighted with a squiggly underline and if you right click you may be given a list of possible words you meant to use.

The spelling is checked against a dictionary and that dictionary may be an American version, so words such as 'colour' which is the correct British spelling may be shown as incorrect because the American spelling is 'color'.
