Plasma Screen

A 'plasma' is an electrically charged gas that emits light ( just like lightning only tiny!).

A plasma display makes use of this effect by having a plasma form inside every pixel cell. The light it gives off hits a 'phosphor' chemical at the front of the cell, this will then produce a red, green or blue dot called a pixel.

Plasma screens are becoming common in modern large screen televsions.
