Information Super Highway

An early internet term.

When the internet was building up in the 1990s. Suddenly millions of people began to get excited with the idea of going online for the first time with the limited dial-up modems available.

A politician, Al Gore, was aware of this movement and coined the term 'Information super highway'.

As it was a phenomenal, exciting social change, the media picked it up as a popular term to describe the new thing also known as the Internet.
