Hot Fix

A software term.

A 'hot fix' is a correction made to a piece of software to repair a fault that has just been detected.

For example, someone might have found a security weakness in an application that a hacker might be able to exploit. A 'hot fix' is issued by the software owner to repair the weakness. A 'hot fix' is similar to a 'software patch'.
