Hard Code

A computer programming term.

Very often in computer programming, things that can change may be stored in a 'variable' i.e. a memory value that can change.

But some values are intended to be permanent i.e. 'hard coded' into the software. For example someone might hard code the value of PI as 3.14 into their software as this number does not change.
