Games Console

A computer dedicated to running games software. For example Xbox, PSP and Wii.

A games console contains a very powerful computer that can make billions of graphic calculations per second. This results in very realistic and smooth action.

The games console does not normally use a keyboard as an input device. Instead it uses a hand held device that allows you to control the action with fingers and thumbs.

Some new input devices are also sensitive to movement of hands and arms, such as the Wii input device.

Games consoles are now beginning to take on a wider role by connecting to online games.
