Anchor

A HTML web design term.

An 'anchor' is a specific location within a web page that can be jumped to by clicking on a hyperlink.

They are particularly useful on very long pages to save you having to physically scroll all the way down the page.

A list of headings /hyperlinks are provided at the top of a page (source anchor). You click on the link and the browser will automatically jump to the corresponding heading within the page (destination anchor).
